I still think we should have some discussion about this (even if it's on next week's meeting or something). Note that what Gecko does and Blink does isn't just having different contrast thresholds (that is true for checkboxes, but not for a bunch of other form controls which do change to dark backgrounds in Blink but not in Gecko). I'd still much rather have the author control this than inventing magic thresholds tbh.
