One point of view that I have not seen discussed is the following. It might provide for a path to finally resolve this issue. - For system fonts, the browsers should do whatever it takes to get to the same rendering as the host. That's what forces a certain interpretation of `opsz` on Mac vs other platforms. - For web fonts, fidelity of layout is more important than how the same font file would behave if installed on a system.
