The [grammar](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-fonts-4/#font-metrics-override-desc) for these descriptors today is `normal | <percentage>`, where `normal` means "do whatever you're doing today." It would probably be natural to add a `font-font` value for the metrics which browsers don't usually take from the font.
