I think things like this fall less under `position:sticky` and more under the new houdini specs. I'd suggest [checking them out](https://drafts.css-houdini.org/), specifically the [css-animation-worklet](https://drafts.css-houdini.org/css-animation-worklet-1/) and it's talk about [scroll timelines](https://drafts.css-houdini.org/css-animation-worklet-1/#scroll-timeline). Also check out the current issues relating to scroll animation/timeline things [https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues?q=is%3Aissue+scroll+timeline](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues?q=is%3Aissue+scroll+timeline). With scroll timelines we won't just have easing options for that inset position, but we'll also have transitions easing through other properties like `transform`/`opacity`/etc. -- GitHub Notification of comment by jonjohnjohnson Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/5517#issuecomment-693636976 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
