They can say "We support CSS Color Module Level 4 now!", then six months later they can say "We support CSS Grid Module Level 2 now!". If these two were both grouped under "We support CSS4 now!", we'd wait six months for both (and we have even less information about what's new from just the name).

I still fail to see how would grouping things into larger chunks instead of smaller chunks make it easier to find a specific thing, both in the spec or caniuse.
