You seem to be under the impression this issue somehow relates to the use of Lab as a blend color space. It doesn't. @svgeesus has explained this already. I'm sure your opinions on the use of Lab and the failure of the graphics arts industry to recognise their error in adopting it are of great interest, but that is not the topic of this issue.
