Any guess at when this might this be implemented? avar2 refers to what seemed, as of the last face-to-face meetings in 2019, to be the most likely implementation of virtual/meta axis mapping, which would be a new major version of the avar table. So it's not finalised by any means, and I suppose xvar or some other new table could eventually win out, but for now I am calling it avar2. As to implementation ... no idea.
