Thanks to @Fantasai and frivoal for reminding me this was being discussed by the WG. I agree with the suggestion to deprecate speech as a media type. As @patrickhlauke notes it is not supported by screen readers and they, as @frivoal notes, do not operate independently of the screen in any case.
