What does keyframe-creation-time refer to here? I _think_ I understand the proposal here and I _think_ I like it. That is I think you might have solved the problem I have wanted to solve for a long time through the "pending substitution value" concept (which I wasn't familiar with) and by making round-tripping even less likely to succeed.
