ExE-Boss has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts: == [css‑syntax][css‑values] Add `uri(…)` function to the `<url>` type == The current `url(…)` function carries with it legacy baggage that prevents support for custom variables. I suggest adding a new `uri(…)` function that would have similar semantics and syntax to `url(…)`, but would allow for custom variables and other nested functions.
