Similar to how we handled forms I would like for this to be uniform with the Open UI effort which itself is trying to holistically define form control parts outside of psuedo elements themselves. Additionally, not only across UAs but what common patterns exist across component libs, OS, etc. The range control itself can take on many forms outside of what is currently implemented by UAs. I get the desire for a short term solution but I would like to ensure that we're not designing ourselves into a corner. I hadn't seen this or else I would have had someone tackle the research in Open UI for range already.
