I know, there are workarounds such as using a raster graphic background image (Google Chrome supports smooth transitions between those, but Firefox not currently.).

It is already possible to write CSS code that might allow smooth transitions between linear gradients in future. Maybe it's the fault of browser developers who have not implemented yet, I am not sure.

But it would be great if CSS officially supported smooth transitions between linear gradients.
