I was curious to see how a word-processor might handle this, so I tried constructing an equivalent testcase in LibreOffice. AFAICT its behavior here corresponds to the Firefox result in your post: at 6ch wrap, the green space "disappears" into the line-break, while at 7ch it appears mid-line, resulting in a visual double-space between *B* and *alef*:
