hmmmm...could we not...just....change it? I'm not all that concerned about official terms if official terms aren't so great...but I'm willing to be persuaded if there are any materials that could logically support the use of the word 'thumb'...but ultimately if it's something that can not be changed for technical reasons, then ok.
