The other sides could auto-inherit the property values of the front face if undefined. Otherwise they could be defined individually. front-face-background-color/image: back-face-background-color/image: etc. I thought it would be a great idea, since css is already being used for 3d objects anyway. CSS is about the way things are displayed on a page, and to go from 2d to 3d with a single, or a few properties would be a quantum leap in dev creativity. But I don't know.
