@annevk I'm not sure what you think needs to be changed in the HTML spec, could you clarify? As far as I'm concerned, there is no need to change anything there; an element that has an associated layout box should be focusable, and nowhere in the spec it is said that the box(es) an element is associated with cannot be the box(es) of its descendants.
