That looks like a multicol bug. multicol is used to make the table more compact it browsers that support it well, looking linear in Firefox, and like this in Chrome on my machine:

Not sure why it doesn't work right, but in the meanwhile, misreading the spec is bad, so I'll turn off this effect.
