> Elements that have 'display: contents' can still be focused (e.g. through Element.focus()) @fantasai I'm not that sure about this. An element with `display: contents` generates no box, thus it's not [being rendered](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/rendering.html#being-rendered), thus most conditions for being a [focusable area](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/interaction.html#focusable-area) don't apply. So the [focusing steps](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/interaction.html#focusing-steps) used by [`focus()`](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/interaction.html#dom-focus) may be aborted. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Loirooriol Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/2632#issuecomment-439231707 using your GitHub account
