I am in favour of doing this, the only issue is that [according to MDN](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/:matches#Browser_compatibility) and [Can&nbsp;I&nbsp;use…](https://caniuse.com/#feat=css-matches-pseudo), this is being implemented and shipping in some browsers.
