Yeah, on review @fantasai and I think you're right - it's not about 
being orthogonal (vertical items align just fine with each other in a 
grid *column*), it's about being orthogonal to the axis that's trying 
to baseline-align.  We've fixed up the language there, let us know if 
there's anything wrong.
