Twitter (on its web site) replaces every character that can have an emoji representation by its respective [Twemoji](https://github.com/twitter/twemoji/tree/gh-pages/2) image, regardless of Variation Selectors. This is effectively like `font-presentation: emoji override` (or `font-variant-emoji: chromatic override` or whatever #1092 resolves to), but with Javascript and custom images. If that does not prove demand, I don't know what would. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Crissov Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/1144#issuecomment-323069877 using your GitHub account
