If we’re serious about the separation of content and style, `text-transform` should have no effect on the characters, i.e. code points, *copied*. They may be changed permanently when *pasted* if the target environment does only support plain text. If it works this makes no difference for users. `text-transform` performs glyph changes in a *script*-specific way, `font-variant` and its sub-properties perform glyph changes in a *font*-specific way – they’re not different regarding user expectations.
