Chrome's top requested table feature is making visibility:collapse 
work with rows and columns. We are planning on tackling it (for some 
definition of "it") next summer with an intern's help. I might corner 
one of you at the January F2F to get more details.

https://crbug.com/174167 (visibility:collapse does not work correctly 
for table columns or rows)
