With your support, the Loading & Control API for Web Games Community Group has been launched: https://www.w3.org/community/loading-control-games/ This group was originally proposed on 2025-06-11 by Tom Greenaway. The following people supported its creation: François Daoust Andrzej Mazur Tom Greenaway Björn Ritzl Koen Bollen Florin Ciornei To join the group, please use: https://www.w3.org/community/loading-control-games/join Please note that supporting a group is different from joining a group. Supporters must also enroll if they wish to participate. -------------------- In the industry of web games, there are many different web game portals across which game developers distribute their games. While these game portals all share common design patterns in their SDKs, game developers lack a common/unified API pattern that they can target to support the various portals. Instead, developers are often forced to write their own libraries to aggregate the management of the portal’s SDKs. The mission of this Community Group is to define a Micro-API outlining a boundary between a web game and the page in which it is embedded. We propose that web game portals can simplify the lives of game developers, game engines and game portals by aligning on a minimum viable API. For more information about the intended scope of work see the [draft charter](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RL4hTFJcuSGjeWNxzz3g2P7K8GyIx2YXX2XOZyuxSfs/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.jankgi9l5x99) (which will be moved to a GitHub repo upon creation of the group). -------------------- Thank you, W3C Community Development Team
