Dear all, Here is a summary of what has been discussed during our call. This does not replace the minutes, but just extract the concept, the actions we have been mentioning. I will update the wiki with this material. * What is the benefit of having the AB project about synchronization and consistency ? Share information across W3C communities (members, chairs, editors, contributors, web developers, ...) Ease evangelization about W3C value Get wider reviews * Imperative requirements Make sure all stay archived persistently and publicly available Automate as much as possible (in other words, do not overload people with never ending improductive cross review calls) Make sure collected data is reliable (in other words, don't let the WG invent/feed metadata freely, it will/has fail) * Solutions relying on human interactions Create effective liaisons with WG/groups interested in specific work (eg W3C/WhatWG, or cross WG) Animate web developers chapters where information is shared Generate domain call (on purpose, when something important happening) * Solutions requiring tools Create dashboard showing W3C activities (a la github, or higher level) Have a news feed Push information on Mailing Lists Create a software extracting valuable information from github/tracker/bugzilla/... * About the type of information/metadata expected Feature, market, abstract, interaction, * Possible actions Visit the past (what worked, what did not) -> please share your experience, if not done already Collect existing tools (gihub usage, dashboard use cases, mailing list for communication work progress) -> all on the wiki Interview people involved in information spreading (Ian J) -> virginie volunteers Interview system for tool improvement (Ted G) -> virginie volunteers Interview IG chair/staff who experience the actual collection of information across W3C -> give recommendation ! Interview W3C members having effective management of cross-WG information -> give name ! * Working method for the coming months By mail and wiki Call on demand * next step Collect all material and ideas, by all :) Any volunteer for any specific task ? Anything to add or direct reaction to that take away ?
