Name: Rolf Arne Mellem Email: rolf@medialt.no Affiliation: Document: TD Item Number: PDF21 Part of Item: Applicability Comment Type: technical Summary of Issue: Not recommend to use the >Lbl> element Comment (Including rationale for any proposed change): Dear Sirs / Madams! The link to: http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/pdf/pdfs/PDF32000_2008.pdf seems to be broken. Is there a mismatch between description and examples regarding the <Lbl> element? Description: Lbl - the list item label. Contains distinguishing information such as a item number or bullet character. LBody - the list item body. Contains list item content, or in the case of a nested list, it may contain additional List tag trees. Examples: <Lbl> element is not used in the examples. Instead the item number or bullet character is a part of the text inside <LBody> <P> element. Proposed Change: When I test with different screen readers (Jaws, NVDA and VO on MAC) the <Lbl> element is read as an individual element. It seems like the item number or bullet character is placed on a separate line before the <LBody>. I have to move two steps for each list item. The examples (without) <Lbl> seems to be easier to understand and quicker to read with a screen reader. I would recommend not to use the <LbL> item for the item number or bullet character. But instead put them in fornt of the text (as in the examples).
