Hi, folks, we are continuing to experiment with taking notes with Zoom's AI Companion. Please let me know if this summary has formatting problems and, if so, if anyone has experience solving formatting issues with Zoom's AI Companion, thanks!August 11th, 2025 *This COGA meeting focused on discussing the review process for WCAG 3 drafts, particularly regarding "Clear Language" guidelines <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Q3eVdTVfErkeXMukdiNVRC1MgIDMv_2FrgJ_62silfE/edit?tab=t.7qp43a3keop#heading=h.7crn40hv0nhj>.*WCAG 3 Review Priorities * - There was confusion about whether to focus on reviewing "User Needs" or "Foundational Requirements" for the Clear Language section.- Julie clarified that the next WCAG 3 working draft (to be published imminently) will only include Requirements. - COGA briefly reviewed the Clear Language requirements earlier this summer.- COGA can provide a more detailed review after the working draft is published. We can submit feedback formally in Github.- WCAG 3 subgroups have drafted User Needs sections, but these sections won't be published until a later draft (possibly December). COGA can provide feedback more informally, via google docs.*Process Concerns * - Lisa expressed concern that subgroups were making decisions without full COGA task force review.- Julie noted that subgroups had to move quickly to be included in the next working draft, but there will be lots of time to review and refine.- The group discussed how to ensure broader COGA expertise is incorporated into WCAG 3 requirements.*Content Organization Challenges * - Julie noted there is overlap between different WCAG 3 sections (e.g., Clear Language vs. Organization, Structure, and Cognitive Support).- Earlier this summer, Julie suggested to the AG editors that the next working draft of WCAG 3 should add cross-references between related sections. For now, the working draft will include an editor’s note about overlap. - COGA discussed three challenges in reviewing WCAG 3 drafts at this early stage: - Requirements that are missing from a particular section, such as Clear Language- Requirements that appear to be missing from one section but are covered in another.- Requirements that subgroups are planning to cover but haven’t drafted yet.- Julie shared the WCAG 3 pathways spreadsheet <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ecg9qFIUVCUQfAPgNSEZ8MmsCSjbAynK8hbGBU8NrzQ/edit?gid=2035961492#gid=2035961492>that gives an overview of what all of the different subgroups are planning to cover.*Review Timeline * - Julie will consult with AG editors to determine priorities and timeline for COGA's review of different WCAG 3 components.- The goal is to create a scheduled review plan for COGA that feels manageable but also aligns with AG’s publishing schedule.*Next Steps * - Julie will get clarity from AG editors about review priorities and timelines.- Julie will report back to the group about the best way to structure ongoing reviews.- Julie will coordinate with other WCAG 3 subgroups to understand their progress and coverage. The meeting ended with agreement that reviewing WCAG 3 content is important, but needs better structure and prioritization given the large amount of material to cover.* Minutes - https://www.w3.org/2025/08/11-coga-minutes.html -- [image: understood.logo] <https://www.understood.org/> *Julie Rawe* *Director, Content Strategy & Accessibility* jrawe@understood.org www.understood.org she | her | hers [image: facebook icon] <https://www.facebook.com/Understood/> [image: linkedin icon] <https://www.linkedin.com/company/understood/> [image: instagram icon] <https://www.instagram.com/understoodorg/?hl=en> [image: tiktok icon] <https://www.tiktok.com/@understood.org> *Support us <https://www.understood.org/donate>*
