Hi, COGA folks, there's an important issue that AG will discuss at its
January 16th meeting, and Lisa and I are hoping you can take a minute to
add a thumbs-up icon to a few COGA comments in GitHub to show your support
and your shared concerns about this issue.
*Background on this AG issue (Feel free to skip to the next section)*
- AG is getting ready to decide on the set of criteria it will use to
evaluate and compare the 20 or so conformance models for WCAG 3 and
ultimately select the winning model.
- It would be great if COGA members could show their support for
including equity as a criterion and show their concern about two other
criteria: complexity and reliability.
- The number of people who comment on or add a thumbs-up will affect how
this issue gets decided at the AG meeting.
- The comment period ends the day before AG's January 16th meeting.
*Your action requested by Monday, January 15th, at 11am ET*
- Go to the GitHub discussion thread about the evaluation criteria
<https://github.com/w3c/wcag3/discussions/34>.
- Scroll to the yellow box at the bottom of the page and choose "Sign up
for free" if you've never used GitHub before or "Sign in to comment" if
you're already a member.
- Scroll down to these four comments or you can jump directly to them
using the links. If you agree with the comment, click the smiling face
(which will give you several icons to choose from) and select 👍.

*GitHub help*
- Any member of the public can comment on the AG's GitHub thread as long
as they have a GitHub account. (I tested this out by creating an account
for my seventh grader — no extra steps were needed for her to add a comment
or thumbs-up to this thread.)
- If you have trouble signing up or signing into GitHub, please email me
privately so I can help.
Thanks for your time on this, and hope everyone has a good week,
Julie (COGA-AG liaison)
