COGA folks, your action requested by 8pm ET tonight: Please thumbs-up this Github post

Hi, COGA, sorry for the short notice, but Rachael just informed me it would
be really helpful to have more thumbs-up on our Clear Language exploratory
draft before it gets discussed at AG's meeting tomorrow.

*What to do by 8pm tonight ET:*

   - Go to this Github summary comment
   <https://github.com/w3c/wcag3/pull/9#issuecomment-1678944806>
   - Click the thumbs-up icon
   - Need more info? See AG's training slide
   <https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14qG2f-ZkhFDqox_qmzqC5tCUt1xJaumkJS2l5GaD-3o/edit#slide=id.g25ec4815c64_0_12>
   that says a thumbs-up means you generally agree with the Clear Language
   draft and are OK with moving forward.
   - *TIME-SENSITIVE: *Rachael will lock the Github thread and the google
   doc by 8pm ET

You don't need to do anything else.* 😎*

But if you have time tomorrow, it would be great if you could attend part
of the AG meeting.

*Tomorrow's AG meeting will discuss our Clear Language draft*

   - *Date/time: *Tuesday, August 22nd, from 11am to 1pm ET
   - *Teleconference URL:* *https://www.w3.org/2017/08/telecon-info_ag*
   <https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2017%2F08%2Ftelecon-info_ag&sa=D&ust=1692452220000000&usg=AOvVaw1tBMxOVjDeIhWnCeRuyXow>
   - *IRC channel:* #ag
   - *Agenda order: *Clear Language is 3rd; the first two items should take
   10 minutes total.
   - *COGA attendance: *Helpful but not essential. We will have time to
   address the feedback after the AG meeting. Nothing will be decided
   definitively at tomorrow's meeting.

*Possible change to Clear Language based on Github comments so far:*

   - Split our long Clear Language guidelines into 5 or 6 separate
   guidelines
   - These smaller sets of guidelines would follow the groupings in our
   current draft:
      1. Word comprehension
      2. Sentence structure
      3. Implied meaning
      4. Chunking information
      5. Numerical Concepts
      6. Typography (if this information is not covered elsewhere in WCAG 3)
   - Rachael, Jeanne, and I think splitting up the guidelines could help us
   move the different parts along faster than if we try to keep everything
   together. No substance would be lost.

*Rachael will respond to the internationalization concerns:*

   - Some Github comments are about internationalizing the Clear Language
   guidelines.
   - Rachael is reaching out to the Internationalization group today to
   start a conversation.
   - One possibility is to agree to address a minimum number of languages
   before we publish and then develop a plan for adding more languages as part
   of the translation process.

Thanks,
Julie
