Update: Speaking to Will Wade at OpenAAC it seems this is old news 
re-announced.

Then PCS (from TobiiDynavox) were the only symbols supported and 
probably still are. Will was encouraging Hector Minto to open up to more 
symbols eg OpenSymbols or Global Symbols.
