Hi Folks I was thinking about how to do metrics for the gap analysis Please read the bellow proposal and comment: The first step I thought was to identify what we are trying to achieve and what we mean by "accessible" for cogitative. I came out with the following: Inaccessible: If a user who could understand and use some web content is unable to, because of the design choices of the web author, then that web content is inaccessible. Accessible: If a user who is capable of understanding the main functions in the content, can in fact understand and use the content, then the content is accessible. metrics For limitations in each cognitive function category we should consider: Are there developer strategies Are they effective- The extent that they make the content accessible (by definition above) IE: fully, significant, slight Reliable - Are they: tested or proposed (proposed statgies are only interesting if we consider that they are likely to be very useful) Documented - Are their clear guidelines and techniques inside WAI Suported in standards - Can this stratgy be via HTML 5 and other open W3C standards in: a single page, adaptable page, WCAG complient, Can the user find alternitve content page that issues there strategies Also we should identify: Are there safety concerns Frustration level: Are they useable but frustrating ------------------- Elements to consider (based on our user scenarios) Primary Elements Menus and navigation Site navigation Use voice ML menus Use web of things menu Page and content layout Presentation Language use Symbol use Capture and cookies Forms with multi stages, such as enrolling in healthcare, make an appointment, enroll in online education Web Payments Date UI Widgets DHTML Apps (participate in online education) Document authoring - saving finding Use email Being aware of a change, identify important content Search, research, and find information Read and share news Find and read emergency information Find out rites and social service information Directions / locations Request information Secondary Elements Use Media Use Real Time Chat Use Social media, Share Play All the best Lisa Seeman Athena ICT Accessibility Projects LinkedIn, Twitter
