CALL FOR PAPERS ======================================= 7th Workshop on Computational Optimization (WCO'14) Warsaw, Poland, September 7-10, 2014 WWW: http://fedcsis.org/wco E-mail: wco2014@fedcsis.org We would like to cordially invite you to consider contributing a paper to WCO 2014 - held as a part of the Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems (FedCSIS 2014). Many real world problems arising in engineering, economics, medicine and other domains can be formulated as optimization tasks. These problems are frequently characterized by non-convex, non-differentiable, discontinuous, noisy or dynamic objective functions and constraints which ask for adequate computational methods. The aim of this workshop is to stimulate the communication between researchers working on different fields of optimization and practitioners who need reliable and efficient computational optimization methods. We invite original contributions related to both theoretical and practical aspects of optimization methods. TOPICS ======================================= The list of topics includes, but is not limited to: - unconstrained and constrained optimization - combinatorial optimization - global optimization - multiobjective optimization - optimization in dynamic and/or noisy environments - large scale optimization - parallel and distributed approaches in optimization - random search algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search and other derivative free optimization methods - nature inspired optimization methods (evolutionary algorithms, ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization, immune artificial systems etc) - hybrid optimization algorithms involving natural computing techniques and other global and local optimization methods - optimization methods for learning processes and data mining - computational optimization methods in statistics, econometrics, finance, physics, medicine, biology, engineering etc PAPER SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION ======================================= Papers should be submitted by April 11, 2014. Preprints will be published on a USB memory stick given to FedCSIS participants. Papers presented during the conference will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library proceedings, and posted at the conference WWW site. The IEEE proceedings will be published under an ISBN and ISSN numbers (and an IEEE Catalog number), under a nonexclusive copyright. Since 2012, Proceedings of the FedCSIS conference are indexed in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science. Moreover, extended versions of selected papers presented during the conference will be published as a volume in the Studies in Computational Intelligence series.
