Dennis, Owen, Sorry for delay in responding to this - I also am not sure why this has not progressed. It seems that the lack of a standard, i.e. the fact that each (XML) editing application has its own solution, is not causing great pain (for our own product, we simply generate whatever format is needed!). W3C has a focus on web/HTML5 and again there is not a real demand in that area for change tracking, or even showing change, at the moment. There is a trend to use HTML as the ‘source’ for documents rather than XML and if that continues there could be a future demand.
