Dear Ivan, Thank you for your comment on CC/PP: Structure and vocabularies 2.0 ([1]) Your editorial comment on "section 3.1" ([2]) has been referenced as LC-1771. Please use this reference for further discussion on this mailing-list. The UWA WG has decided to reject this comment. This text is in the first version of the specification verbatim. The point is that it is not necessary for components to specify a component type. If they do, life is good. If they don't then the CC/PP processor must not fail. This is needed to allow some UAProf profiles to be valid CC/PP. The WG takes the point, but it wasn't spelled out in the recommendation. We do say explicitly in that section that components MAY have type information. The text in question just spells out what a processor must do if such information is not available. Please let us know if you agree with this decision Best Regards, On behalf of the UWA WG, Stephane Boyera [1] http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-CCPP-struct-vocab2-20070430/ [2] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-ccpp2-comments/2007Jun/0000.html [3] http://www.w3.org/2007/uwa/editors-drafts/ccpp2/ -- Stephane Boyera stephane@w3.org W3C +33 (0) 4 92 38 78 34 BP 93 fax: +33 (0) 4 92 38 78 22 F-06902 Sophia Antipolis Cedex, France
