The W3C Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group has released a
third Last Call Working Draft of its mobileOK Basic Tests 1.0

An diff document showing the differences between that current
working draft and the previously published (25 May) working
draft is here:

Members of this mailing list and the public are encouraged to
submit comments on the draft before the last-call deadline of 19
October 2007. Send your comments to:

mobileOK defines the tests that provide the basis for making a
claim of W3C mobileOK Basic conformance and are based on W3C
Mobile Web Best Practices 1.0 document.

mobileOK Basic tests are based on a limited subset of the Mobile
Web Best Practices. Their outcome is machine-verifiable, hence
claims of mobileOK Basic conformance are easy to check.

Content passing the tests demonstrates that the content provider
has taken basic steps to provide a functional experience for
mobile users.

mobileOK assesses interoperability. It does not measure usability
and does not address the important goal of assessing whether users
of more advanced devices enjoy a richer user experience.

Publication of this Last Call Working Draft indicates that the
Best Practices Working Group thinks that mobileOK Basic Tests 1.0
is ready; any comments that you may make during this period will
be processed by the Working Group and ultimately reviewed by the
Director before the group is allowed to go forward in the
Recommendation track.
