Hi,
The Mobile Web Best Practices Working Group just released a new version
of the Best Practices document today:
http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-mobile-bp-20060518/
This is the fifth public Working Draft and it incorporates the changes
following up on the comments received during the second last call
period. The comments and their disposition is available at:
http://www.w3.org/2006/05/mwbp-doc.html
The changes since the previous version are available at:
http://www.w3.org/2006/05/mwbp-diff.html
As documented in the "status of the document" section, the Working Group
is planning to request transition to Candidate Recommendation status in
the upcoming weeks, with a proposed PR entrance criteria of:
1. Sufficient reports of implementation experience have been
gathered to demonstrate that the Mobile Web Best Practices are
implementable and are interpreted in a consistent manner. To
test this, the Working Groups expects to evaluate web content
(web sites, pages) that has been created using the Mobile Web
Best Practices. To exit "Candidate Recommendation" for each Best
Practice, at least two web sites/pages which are not solely
demonstrations of Best Practices implementation should pass the
Best Practice.
2. An implementation report has been produced indicating the
results of using each best practices for the web sites/pages
considered
Stay tuned!
Dom
