mobileOKcomment

Hello w3c group,

My name is Alexander Hochhausen from T-Online. We already checked our portal mobil.t-online.de whether it is .mobi conform. And it is . :)

We support nearly all points that you check for the mobileOK basic test.

But at one point we are not sure.

2.3.2 ( Default Delivery Context )

To browse the content with the User-Agent: W3C mobileOK DDC (http://www.w3.org/2006/07/mobileok-ddc).

In our normal daily workflow we make content adaptation for every singel device. With the User Agent Profiling Database as our background, we plan every portal structure for "bad", "normal" and "good" devices. This is based on the Markuplanguages.

If such an unknown useragent would make a request on our portal, this device would get a rendered site wich is created in xHtml basic (Our fallback solution).

So we were not sure what you want to verifying with this point.

We dont get better experience through such an test. We know that such cases can happen, but we always try to eliminate such risks. E.g the browser problem that we have with the two browsers on the latest nokia devices.

So maybe you could specify the advantage for providers with doing this test.

Best Regards
Alexander Hochhausen
