Malvin, thanks a lot for providing the references to RFC 6920 and the IANA register. Those two are really valuable resources to take into account, although they could use some updating to include most recent versions of the SHA family like SHA3 and, in the process, avoid naming confusion (e.g.: many people mix up SHA3-512 with SHA512, which is actually SHA2 with 512 bits output). -- *Adán Sánchez de Pedro Crespo* CTO, Stampery Inc.
