Technically the closest I found is: "So the blockchain is nothing more than a long string of transactions, each of which refers to an earlier record in the chain." Actually, this isnt really true either. It's pointers to transactions. In truth, a block chain is nothing more than a "linked list" a data structure that has been around since the 50s.
