Reminder: community meeting on Monday 20.Jan.2025 - FEGA and Bioschemas

Dear Bioschemas community,

You are invited to the Bioschemas community meeting on Monday 20.Jan.2025
at 17:00 CET.

We will have Marcos Casado Barbero from EMBL-EBI presenting the Federated
European Genome-Phenome Archive (FEGA) and possible alignment to
Bioschemas. See abstract below.

*Abstract.*

FEGA by Marcos Casado Barbero (EMBL-EBI): The Federated European
Genome-Phenome Archive (FEGA) enables secure sharing of genomic and
phenotypic data across Europe. The FEGA Metadata Working Group is
developing a FAIR, future-proof, modular metadata model to enhance
interoperability, validation, and integration with linked data
technologies. This talk will introduce FEGA, outline current metadata
challenges, and present ideas for collaboration with BioSchemas, including
schema reuse and interoperability strategies. We’ll also explore how the
future FEGA entities can align with BioSchemas types and profiles (e.g.,
Biosample, LabProtocol...) and discuss potential contributions to the
BioSchemas specification.

Please join us if you can and feel free to share the invitation with
colleagues from your communities that you think could be interested in the
topic.
