It looks like the first set of Bioschemas types will be published as pending Schema.org types on 7 July. See the message below sent to the public schema.org mailing.

The types included are:

  *   BioChemEntity
     *   ChemicalSubstance
     *   Gene
     *   MolecularEntity
     *   Protein
  *   Taxon

Based on discussions here and in Github, here is a proposal for a new
Schema.org release, version 13.0, which I would like to publish in early July.

There may be a few definitions to tweak / polish but the basic shape of a release is here.
