See you next year !

Dear Bioschemas Community,

I hope this message finds you well in the holidays season and that everyone is keeping well and having a wonderful time.

The Bioschemas Steering Council wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the Happy New Year to come. We had an unusual year in 2020 and thanks to everyone, Bioschemas development and adoptions have been going strong and we have pulled through will impressive progress and outcome for the ELIXIR Bioschemas Strategic Implementation Study, Global Bioschemas efforts, and community engagement at key events such as Biohackathon Europe.

In 2020, we have successfully delivered the Bioschemas Governance Document <https://github.com/Bioschemas/governance/blob/master/governance.md>, which is key to our Sustainability Strategy. We have reactivated our community engagement through the regular community meeting <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kd5F97ogdiPNhLTnkei-RVR8TC8Ohpc5QSPX3KsfDrk/edit#> which have been a great success with lots of discussions on the diverse set of activities through many international collaborations. We have continued to progress at an impressive rate to deliver the outcomes for the ELIXIR Bioschemas Strategic Implementation Study <https://elixir-europe.org/activities/exploiting-bioschemas-markup-support-elixir-communities>. We had a very good set of Bioschemas presentations at Biohackathon Europe <https://github.com/elixir-europe/BioHackathon-projects-2020/tree/master/projects/24>.

In 2021, we are looking forward to welcoming new members to the Bioschemas Steering Council. Details will be announced very soon. We are excited about this. There are more activities in development to move Bioschemas forward and we thank you for your participation throughout this journey.

Please be reminded that, starting on 25th January 2021, our Bioschemas Community Monthly meeting will move to a new time (17:00 - 18:00 CET/ 16:00 - 17:00 GMT). In the first quarter of 2021, we will also be reviewing the status of live deployments <https://bioschemas.org/liveDeploys/> of Bioschemas profile and development <https://bioschemas.org/profiles/> and the different stages of it (release/draft/deprecated). Please spend a few minutes to review the Bioschemas Working Groups <https://bioschemas.org/groups/> in which you belong to and kindly identify your involvement in the group. We have a lot of excitement lining up for 2021 to come.

Finally, for the last message of the year, we wish you all a wonderful time with your family and friends, a peaceful break you all deserve, and very happy invigorating moments to build up your energy and good health for more productive time to come.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Sira
