This seems plausible. We perhaps need some discussion on what to do when the value property provides no more information than the url property provides; this may be the case for some non-standard but expected properties. It is fine, providing clients are not expecting the valueReference property.. But then those using the valueReference object need to know what to do in their absence. There is the issue of duplication to deal with. Each aditionalProperty.materials in the example URL given has a value property which sometimes equals the valueReference.codeValue property - this seems redundant. If the property value is available at a given URL or other schema, then specifiying it twice seems redundant. UKCRC TDCC is hoping to prototype this soon. We use slightly different terminology, but hoping this discussion will help us understand. I will chat with Petr though, as I'm still very new to all of this and may be talking nonsense! You can check the discussion we had during the meeting and the examples on how this has been implemented in the DataRecord examples by BBMRI-ERIC (Example<https://github.com/BioSchemas/specifications/blob/master/DataRecord/examples/bbmri-eric-ID-CZ_MMCI-collection-LTS_jsonld.json>, Discussion<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xKFFLXcc6Db5wSuifOETpQSIFd73GLL2__2BNK9d4tk/edit#heading=h.aqwqtawny32k>). Since the use of CategoryCode as valueReference looks more and more useful for various Bioschemas use cases and not just for the Sample one, we would like to propose it as valid type for any property value used in Bioschemas and we would like to know what you think about this. Look forward to getting your feedback Kind regards, Luca and Matt This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information.
