By the way, I brought this up on www-tag in February: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-tag/2009Feb/0032.html Resounding silence. The only followup was a private exchange with Larry Masinter in which he said, to paraphrase: Don't change HTTP. AWWW and RDF are wrong, change them instead. If you need to URIs for things that don't work with HTTP, don't use the http: scheme, use a different URI scheme such as tdb:.
