Max, thank you for the update. 25.08.2016, 09:32, "刘大鹏(鹏成)" <max.ldp@alibaba-inc.com>: 1. Extension to wpt-tools of “test the web forward” project, which can show the specification version of each test case (Done) Next Step:1. Add <last spec>, indicating the latest spec version of each test case - Proposed by Chaals, @Chaals, would you like to expain more about the rational? This is related to 1.3 below, as well. Currently the tool can run tests for a version of the spec by looking for test cases that say they support e.g. HTML 5.0 The problem is that in reality spec features are common at minimum to a series of specs. For example, there is no realistic version number to *begin* testing a list - and in all probability, there will be no end version, either. But let's imagine we want to test a feature like appcache, which is in HTML 5.0 only. We can use the current meta tag approach, and say the spec_version is html5.0 What about keygen? This is in HTML 5.0 and HTML 5.1, but not in HTML 5.2 and not expected to come back. being able to have "first version" and "last version" metadata means that any time we were running tests for stuff in HTML 5.1, or 5.0, we could test the things that use keygen. To take a more complicated example. accesskey="a b" is valid HTML 5.0, but invalid in HTML 4, in HTML 5.1, currently in HTML 5.2 - and won't be valid again until implementations change. If it does get implemented, it might well be in e.g. HTML 5.3 and many versions afterward. So how should we mark tests that use this feature? My first approach to this is to use a "first version" and "last version" marker for tests. This makes it fairly simple to collect things for e.g. HTML 4, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 ... so it seems worthwhile. Let's see if it covers useful cases. cheers Chaals Advancing Web Platform Applications Testing Community Group Time: Wednesday, June 1, 2016  4:00 pm  |  China Time  |  10:00 am |  Spain Time  |  Attendees: Chaals McCathie Nevile, Mike Smith, Xiaoqian Wu, Dapeng Liu, Hucai Duan, Peng Li Minutes:1. Suggest maintaining a public website, that anyone can use, evaluate the work being done and how useful it might be. Provide Demos, use cases, documents etc.1.2. This extension should support multiple spec version numbers for one test case, since this would be the most common case.1.3. Validator may be used to determine the spec version of each test case.1.4. Setting up virtual team, milestone for the project. Inviting more contributors to join the work. 2. Discussion on the idea of “collecting test cases from real world apps”2.1. We have finished the initial version of the code to extend the "test the web forward project" as planned. 2. Here is some output of the test with "spec version" column in the test result page:     We can also make further enhancement, for example: to make a selection box to enable the user to select the test suite's spec version and enable/disable this feature etc. For the next step, we will work with the "test the web forward" project to review the code and merge the extension to the project. <temp4cj.png> 3. What is next: We have good progress of the planned work item 1, and it is time to discuss the remaining ideas (work item 2). Let us have a teleconference to discuss this next week. My thought is to discuss the ideas to enhance this project in this community group, instead of starting a new one. If we can have some concrete idea, then we should contribute code to the test project.
The enhancement idea we have now:1. Write a manifest file that can differentiate the test cases for the stable features of H5 and the features that are still under discussion. Then contribute it to the testthewebforward project. A GUI menu that allows the user to select which feature group is going to be used in the test could also be useful. 2. Find the cases where things that people want to put together in a real-world app that don't  work. This community group would collect code from their real apps, identify problems, and use that information to narrow the problem down until we can create a specific test - which we should contribute to testthewebforward project. Any comment and other idea?
