Call for Consensus (CfC) for Proposed Recommendation (PR) of Vehicle Information Service Specification (VISS)

Dear Colleagues:


This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to publish the Proposed
Recommendation (PR) of the Vehicle Information Service Specification
(VISS) developed by the Automotive Working Group and detailed by the
following Editors' Draft (ED):

The goal of this specification is to provide a unified platform
interface for web applications to access sensors and actuators on
vehicles. This specification has been developed in the support and
collaboration of automakers and suppliers and the GENIVI Alliance (
www.genivi.org).

This CfC satisfies the group requirements and the group has been
addressing requests, comments and issues raised by the broader
community [1] since the Candidate Recommendation (CR) has been
published in February 2018. We have also

By publishing this PR, the group sends a signal to the community to
begin reviewing the document. The PR reflects where the group is on
this spec at the time of publication; it does not necessarily mean
there is consensus on the spec's contents.

response is preferred and encouraged and silence will be considered as
agreement with the proposal.
