Hi!
Is not inside car actually 2 cases ? An app running on smartphone inside the vehicle is controlled differently from an app running for example on the IHU ?

Hi,

I have checked the diagram and I agree with it. Anyway, I think we also need examples of some policies written using the different approaches mentioned in our discussions. I’m sorry but I haven’t been able to advance on this. I image we could try to define some basic use cases that showcase the differences of purposes approaches. For example:

Use Case 1:

Owner's App wants to access speed from inside car in order to advise of speed limits.

Use Case 2:

Mechanic’s App wants to access diagnostics codes from inside car.

Use Case 3:

Manufacturer's App wants to access diagnostics codes from outside car in order to monitor engine health and give advice to owner.

I will be late tomorrow, I am having class (over Teams) until 20:30 CET, but I’ll try to finish a bit earlier.

Best,

Isaac.

We said some time ago in the access control discussion that we should put together use case examples to try to make our points clearer. The link below points to an attempt to do so.
I hope we can discuss it in the WG tomorrow.

Where I also hope we can find a slot for the PR 323, which is now updated after Gunnar's comments.
