The roll out and capability per station will vary unfortunately. Consumers could set preferences for service stations based on streamlined payment experience in mixed availability geographic areas. IFSF will be presenting their perspective and imagine we will have lots of questions for them. -- Ted Guild <ted@w3.org> W3C Systems Team http://www.w3.org > On Feb 17, 2018, at 12:36 AM, Streif, Rudolf <rstreif@partner.jaguarlandrover.com> wrote: > > Forgot to add: even though we might come up with a great and secure solution for automotive web payments the question is how long it will take gas stations to update their pumps? > >> On Fri, Feb 16, 2018 at 4:35 PM, Streif, Rudolf <rstreif@partner.jaguarlandrover.com> wrote: >> Great article, Ted. I like it. The interesting thing is that pretty much all merchants have updated their POS terminals to the ones with chip readers but the gas stations did not. It's virtually impossible to install a CC skimmer at a POS location but it's almost trivial to do so at gas stations as the latter are barely monitored in particular at night. >> >> :rjs >> >>> On Thu, Feb 15, 2018 at 6:21 AM, Ted Guild <ted@w3.org> wrote: >>> I wrote a brief article on fueling fraud and how these standards can >>> help mitigate those concerns.
