Greetings everyone
It is time we started truly getting our social media presence in gear. I
will humbly try to get the Twitter up and running.
Everybody, please follow @autowcag on your Twitter accounts.
Also send me a list of your Twitter accounts and recommendations for other
people we should follow.
Please keep in mind that:
a. It is best if Twitter accounts are primarily in English .. while we
are a multi-national community our content is in English as is the majority
of our audience. I personally do not understand French tweets at all, and
Dutch .. I am married to a Swiss lady and know German decently, so I can
usually guess, but not very well.
b. Only recommend Twitter accounts primarily concerned with
accessibility, do not use or recommend accounts that you or someone uses in
more of a personal capacity. There is nothing wrong with that, not at all,
but we have to try and keep the list concise and on topic, else the amount
of tweets to sort through quickly becomes overwhelming.
Any ideas on regular tweets are most welcome.
I am thinking about tweeting our agenda items a day in advance of every
auto-wcag meeting, with a url to our wiki, something along the lines of
"Tomorrow we'll cover WCAG SC x, y, z, URL #a11y #autowcag"
My aim is to tweet live from our meetings, at least 2 tweets per meeting or
one tweet per topic.
If you guys think a different strategy or additional types of tweets are
good to spread the word and get other people involved, don't be shy to
contact me and discuss.
