Automated WCAG Monitoring Community Group Teleconference 2014-10-02, 16:00 - 17:00 h (CET) Participants: Wilco (chair), Kamyar, Frank, Birkir, Hanno, John, Annika (scribe) Frank from FTB introduced himself as new participant in the auto-wcag community. He is a web developer focusing on web accessibility. ITEM 1 Action items: https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/Action_items Wilco has started to add tests that are implemented in Quailjs as test-cases to the auto-wcag wiki. They should be ready for review next week. ITEM 2: Review SC3-1-1-text https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/SC3-1-1-text The group discussed the option to add an automatic step to the test. The subject of automated step would be "all text without language changes". If the language determined for the text is L1, then the test case passes. It is still open how the threshold for language guessing algorithm can be determined. Hanno: There is an implementation in Quailjs. Annika: This is also implemented in the eGovMon tool. Wilco: Please send a pointer to algorithms. Wilco suggested to add a help section for the user testing steps. (E.g. a reference to the definition of "primary language"). ITEM 3: Review SC3-1-1-html https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/SC3-1-1-html Birkir will provide input from screen reader test. No further comments. ITEM 4: Review SC3-1-2-lang https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/SC3-1-2-lang (Same as ITEM 3.) ITEM 5: Review SC3-1-2-text https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/SC3-1-2-text John: Where does the sentence "A single word in another language does not have to be marked." come from? Wilco: That is defined in WCAG. John: The question in step 2 should be refined. "Are there any sentences or paragraph in another language?" or "Is the language L1 used exclusively?" Wilco suggests to add help text. Wilco: Can this test be separated into two tests? Annika: No, better keep it in one test to avoid conditional relationship between tests. ITEM 6 Final comments Wilco: Please remember to fill in your availability in the meetings plan [1] REFERENCES: [1] https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/Meetings_plan SUMMARY OF ACTIONS: https://www.w3.org/community/auto-wcag/wiki/index.php?title=Action_items&oldid=632
